Divorce
It does not matter who you are or what your financial situation is. Divorce is tough on everyone.

It is hard to cope with the end of a marriage and the changing shape of a family. Aside from the compassion of friends and family, it is vital to find good professional support to help you through the process. When it comes to the legal side of a divorce, you need a lawyer you can depend on to make it as manageable as possible.
Large and complex divorces
In larger and more complex cases, it is essential to have experts on your team who know how to evaluate your assets and the possible tax consequences when your estate is divided. Lisa Zahn is experienced in developing complex property divisions and in resolving “messy” and complicated child custody cases.
Smaller divorces
In smaller cases, it is just as important to know when to stop the process and resolve the case as quickly as possible, to keep legal fees and costs to a minimum. Zahn Family Law handles divorces of any size and represents women just as often as men.
Whatever a client’s income, race or gender, anyone going through a divorce wants one thing: to end the agony and expense of the legal process as quickly and efficiently as possible. (See also 6 tips for keeping your divorce attorney fees down.)
When children are involved
Whatever the size of a case, when the custody of a child is at stake, the child’s best interests always come first. Lisa is passionate about doing everything reasonably possible to protect the interests of her client’s children. Children and custody
Same-sex divorce
On June 26, 2015, the United States Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage must be recognized throughout the United States, including Texas. Same-sex spouses are subject to the same laws as any other spouses in Texas, so a same-sex couple whose marriage is no longer viable goes through the same divorce process.
A party to a same-sex marriage deserves the same level of representation, discretion and professionalism as any other client.
