Mediation and alternatives

Going to court can be intimidating. Many families settle their case out of court instead.

In most cases it has become commonplace, if not mandatory, for courts to order the parties to mediation before their case will be set for trial. Most of the time, this is a positive step.

Prepared as if for trial

Lisa takes time to prepare for each mediation as thoroughly as if the case were going to trial, to achieve the best possible result for her clients.

Why mediation

Mediation lets the parties decide what their agreement will be, instead of a judge who doesn’t know their circumstances making the final decisions about their lives and children. It is confidential, non-confrontational, far less expensive and much less emotionally trying than going to trial.
